Christy Flores-Jones has many years of experience as a writer and editor having worked for various media outlets and public relations departments. She is the Director of Public Relations for the SISD Public Relations Department. In the PR department, she writes, edits, assists with media relations, and coordinates special events, projects and publications. She worked for seven years at the Ysleta Independent School District primarily as the staff writer and later assisting with media relations, event planning and special project coordination. Flores-Jones also worked at the El Paso Times for nine years as a news assistant, reporter, copy editor, entertainment editor and online content editor. In her career, she has had a key role in executing successful projects and events, such as the Transmountain Challenge, community meetings for the local entertainment scene, media nights for high school athletic coaches, districtwide convocations, parental involvement conferences, back to school rallies and community meetings for two large urban school districts.
