Corina Q. Bollain y Goytia has been a SISD parent volunteer for over 20 years and became an SISD employee on March of 2006. She was a Volunteer Coordinator for 2 years, then became a Parent Liaison for 7 years and is currently the NGS Migrant Education Recruiter Specialist and has been under State and Federal Programs since 2008. She has an Administrative Specialist, NGS Specialist, and ID&R Recruiter certification and 10 years of experience as a legal and church secretary. She wants to ensure that all migrant children have the opportunity to reach challenging academic standards and graduate with a high school diploma or complete a GED in order to prepare them for responsible citizenship, further learning and productive employment.

    She currently oversees the following:

    • NGS (New Generation System)
Responsible for collecting, storing, communicating, and transferring migrant students’ demographic, education, and health information.
    • ID&R (Identification and Recruitment)
Responsible for identifying and recruiting of all eligible migratory children in SISD as required by the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. Completing the appropriate documentation; contributing to high standards of quality controls; and building relationships with and among communities, their institutions, and migrant workers and their families.
    • A Bright Beginning Curriculum
Responsible to foster oral language and early literacy development of 3 and 4 year old children in the migrant program; and to promote at home learning through instruction and strategies so parents can support their child’s oral language and early literacy skills.
    • PAC (Parent Advisory Council)
Promotes this parental engagement program by bringing awareness in many issues through workshops, presentations, health fairs, events, and trainings to migrant families.
