Ms. Tanya Gallegos
Hello, my name is Tanya Gallegos and I was born and raised in El Paso, TX. I am a proud graduate of Socorro High School, UTEP, and Lamar University for my Masters. I am currently the proud Early College High School Advisor for Socorro ISD. I have 19 years of experience in the field of Education. In those 19 years, I have served as an elementary, middle, and high school teacher. The majority of my teaching experience has been as an Advancement via Individual Determination (AVID) Coordinator and elective teacher at El Dorado High School. While at El Dorado H.S., I was able to lead the team to National Demonstration status by implementing strong college and career readiness schoolwide systems. I also spent 3 years as an AVID elective teacher helping build and develop systems for AVID at Pebble Hills High School. I'm on my 6th year serving as an AVID National Staff Developer where I support AVID elective teachers around the nation on implementation and refinement of AVID's curriculum and schoolwide efforts. I was selected as a Teacher Speaker for one of AVID's Summer Institutes. I look forward to supporting the district's early college students and ensuring that they activate the opportunities provided to them in order for them to advocate for themselves and find success.
