SISD job fair attracts great crowd of highly qualified teachers
The Socorro Independent School District Human Resources Department recently invited certified, energetic, progressive, and highly motivated educators to its teacher job fair.
The event attracted 175 teachers who were seeking jobs in diverse grade levels and education fields. Jobs at SISD schools are available due to growth and attraction in the district, offering great opportunities for prospective employees.
“SISD is the district of choice and we are always happy to welcome highly qualified applicants to our team,” said Rudy Campoya, chief human resources officer. “Our district is a great place to work. We offer great health benefits and competitive pay.”
The SISD job fair was unique in that it gave applicants the opportunity to meet all 49 campus principals and interview with several of them in one location.
“This event was incredible,” said Cynthia Haynes, an interviewee. “I liked that I was able to interview with several principals on the spot. They all made me feel very comfortable. I was able to give them my resume, answer questions, and share a little about me and my profession.”
Another applicant said she attended the job fair because she considers SISD home and wishes to give back to her community.
“I’m currently a teacher in Midland but we wanted to come home and to SISD,” said Arleen Lizarraga, an applicant. “Growing up as an SISD student I encountered many opportunities. I know SISD pioneered the early college programs, and I’m proud to be a graduate of Mission Early College High School. This is a very smart district. I definitely want to work here.”
