The Socorro Independent School District will conduct Advanced Academy Nights 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 5 through 7 and Nov. 12 through 14 at the district’s comprehensive high schools.

Advanced Academy Nights allow students preparing for the transition from middle school to high school the opportunity to learn about the different academies and programs available to them upon entering high school.

The students and their parents can visit with student representatives and educators from the advanced academic academies in SISD to gather information and ask questions about the different programs. The events will give eighth graders an idea of what academy suits their interests and their future college and career endeavors.

The SISD academies presenting will be Health Professions Academy (HPA) at Socorro High School, Synergi4 TSTEM Academy at Montwood High School, Libertas Academy for Law, Government and Public Administration at Americas High School, Aztec Architecture Academy (AAA) at El Dorado High School, International Baccalaureate (IB) at El Dorado High School, School for Advanced Technical Applications TSTEM (SATA) at Eastlake High School, Sparta Business Academy (SBA) at Pebble Hills High School, Mission Early College High School (MECHS) and Fire Science Academy at Socorro High School.
