SISD offers free workforce classes to adult ESL students

The Socorro Independent School District’s Community Education department will be offering free workforce training certifications classes for adult ESL students.

Adult students who meet eligibility requirements, reside in Texas, and who are at least 18 years of age may be eligible for the vocational certifications and basic skill courses, which include security officer, HVAC technician, computer technician, general office specialist, and building maintenance.

Classes begin in August at four SISD campuses and will be from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays.

Candidates interested in participating must schedule an appointment with the SISD Community Education department at (915) 937-1700 to attend an information session. Course placement is limited. All candidates must complete the registration process to be eligible to take a course. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will receive access to the certification exam.
