The Americas High School volleyball team is starting the season with a new head volleyball coach.
The school welcomed Adam Lares as the new varsity coach on Aug. 3 at the official announcement in the school’s rotunda.
Lares is also a teacher in the biomedical program, an AVID elective teacher and a sponsor for Health Occupations Students of America Academy (HOSA).
“It’s great to have the opportunity to work here and go through the Americas volleyball program for the 2023 season,” Lares said. “We have high expectations to continue the excellence our athletics programs are known for and highlight the volleyball program. We hope to go through the season and make some noise.”
The coach said he was thankful for his professional development at Americas alongside great coaches. He also appreciates the overall support from the school to set the foundation and expectations for the season.
“I’m excited to be a Trailblazer at a 6A school like Americas High School,” Lares said.
The Trailblazers volleyball team won their first match up Aug. 8 against Burges High School.
