Socorro Independent School District will host the 2nd annual Recruitment & Enrollment Expo, a community event open to all students and parents in the El Paso region, from 6 to 9 p.m. June 18 at the SISD Student Activities Complex (SAC) 2, 1300 Joe Battle Blvd.
The district invites families to explore the endless opportunities in academic, athletics, fine arts, extracurricular and career and technical training.
Parents will be able to enroll their children in Socorro ISD on site. Enrollment specialists will be at the event to help parents complete the online enrollment form and enroll their child for the 2026-2027 school year in Socorro ISD.
Current students, teachers, principals and district staff will be available to talk to families about specialized student programs, activities, clubs, and programs at SISD campuses. Students and educators from the Health Profession Academy, audio/visual, law enforcement, photojournalism, automotive and diesel technology, cosmetology, education and training, robotics, engineering (4-H archery), fire science academy (EMT), culinary arts, business, marketing and Synergi4 - STEM programs will be operating game booths and available to explain more about their innovative programs and schools.
Socorro ISD provides opportunities for children from Pre-K to high school to excel in academics and beyond, with free Pre-K for three and four-year olds, elementary academies in science and art, dual credit courses, early college high schools, advanced academic academies, and CTE programs to earn certifications in numerous fields, such as fire tech, barbering, cosmetology, emergency medical technician, nursing, welding, electrician, veterinary tech, computer science, and more.
This family-friendly evening will include food trucks, games, student performances, and raffle prizes in celebration of the vibrant SISD community.
Socorro ISD also invites participants to sign up for the Rev It Up for Enrollment Car Show. Set up will be from 5 to 6 p.m. June 18 and Show n’ Shine awards will be at 7 p.m. Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place “Fan Favorite”. In place of an entry fee, participants are being asked for a $25 gift card donation. The deadline to register and submit a donation is 4 p.m. June 15. Sign up for the car show here.
