Pebble Hills High School welcomed Ariel Blair as the new softball coach for the Spartans on Dec. 8.
Before joining the Socorro Independent School District, Blair was an assistant coach at Eastwood High School and a former UTEP softball player. In addition to her coaching career, she is currently one of 18 players on the USA National Flag Football team.
Blair plans to leverage her playing and coaching experience to elevate the team's performance and foster a winning culture at the school.
“Come on! Jump on board and come support us. I'm super excited, and I hope you guys are too. Let's go do this together,” said Blair, who is also the school’s new physical education teacher.
Pebble Hills High School senior Ciana Quiñones plays third base for the Spartans. She looks forward to a smooth transition with the new coach and hopes that Blair will motivate the team to be the best that they can be.
“I just want someone who's dedicated and motivated to be there for us as a team,” Quiñones said.
