Free PreK programs offered for qualifying 3-year-olds, all 4-year-olds

The Socorro Independent School District welcomes parents of three- and four-year-old Pre-Kindergarten students to enroll their children in SISD for the 2026-2027 school year.

SISD proudly provides endless opportunities for young students to excel academically, including a free full-day Pre-K program for all 4-year-olds and a free half-day program for qualifying 3-year-old students. Parents can find the appropriate online forms and instructions to enroll at www.sisd.net/enrollment.

The district’s early childhood programs provide engaging, hands-on learning to build a solid foundation for students to succeed in their academic journey. The curriculum includes social and emotional development, language development, technology, social studies, math, science, and physical development. For more information on Pre-K for 3- or 4-year-olds, visit www.sisd.net/prek.

Pre-K program for qualifying 3-year-olds
SISD offers a free districtwide half-day program for 3-year-old students who qualify based on economic, language, homeless or military requirements as established by the state. In addition, 3-year-old children of SISD certified teachers are eligible for the PK3 program. A child must be 3 years old by September 1, 2026.

Registration documents for the 3-year-old program will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on the time/day parents/guardians submit their online form. Students must meet qualifying conditions for the 3-year-old program.

Pre-K program for all 4-year-olds
SISD offers free, full-day Pre-K for all four-year-old students, regardless of their eligibility. A child must be 4 years old by September 1, 2026 to qualify.

2026-2027 Districtwide Dual Language Implementation
As part of an updated Dual Language program for the 2026-2027 school year, all PK3, PK4 and kindergarten students identified as Emergent Bilingual through the registration process will be automatically placed in a Dual Language classroom. If a student is identified as an Emergent Bilingual student, but parent/guardian denies services, the student may not participate in the Dual Language classroom. Monolingual students are primarily served in general education classrooms. If space is available in a Dual Language classroom and you are interested in your child participating, please indicate your interest on the registration form.

How to register/enroll
Parents will use the Skyward Family Access system to register online. To have access to online registration, parents will need to have a current email address. Parents can find the appropriate online forms and instructions to register at www.sisd.net/enrollment. Enrollment is also open now for all new and returning students in grades kinder through 12th for the 2026-2027 school year.

Important note: Parents of returning students and parents of new students with other children already in Socorro ISD schools must use the same, already existing Skyward Family Access account to register their children. This will ensure all the children in the same family will be connected in the system. Parents of new students to Socorro ISD without other children already in the district should open a new Skyward Family Access account.

Parents or legal guardians are asked to submit basic information via a secure online form for registration.

The following documents will be required for new students to the district: student birth certificate, immunization record, a current utility bill, and an identification for the parent or legal guardian registering the child.

The following documents will be required for returning students: proof of residence (current utility bill) and a parent identification. Parents may review other registration/enrollment requirements at www.sisd.net/enrollment.
