The Pebble Hills High School Spartan Marching Band is marching its way back to state after earning the title of Area Champions and securing a spot in the 2026 UIL 6A Texas State Marching Band Contest for the fourth consecutive year. The Spartans won first place in the final round at the 2026 UIL 6A Area A Marching Band Contest on Oct. 31.
The achievement showcases the talent, dedication and hard work of the students and the leadership of directors Maximo Sierra, Maria Carbajal and Cecil Crabtree, whose commitment has helped guide the program to another remarkable milestone.
“Qualifying for the Texas State Marching Band Contest for the fourth consecutive year is incredibly meaningful to me because it reflects the consistency and strength of our program. It is the result of years of hard work, commitment, and a culture built around great students, dedicated families, and a shared belief in excellence,” said Maximo Sierra, the band's head director.
The Spartans will perform their show titled "A Guide to the Zodiac" at the Alamodome in San Antonio on Nov. 9. Sierra said the production celebrates the wonder and beauty of the stars while highlighting the commitment and determination that helped lead the band back to the state competition.
“For our students, this accomplishment is proof that their hard work has paid off. They have invested countless hours in rehearsals, learning, growing, and pushing themselves to be their very best. Qualifying for state validates those efforts and shows them that meaningful success comes through discipline, perseverance, and trust in the process,” Sierra said.
The 6A preliminary rounds will take place Nov. 9 and the morning of Nov. 10, with finals taking place the afternoon of Nov. 10.
