Health Professional Academy (HPA)

Group of health professional academy students in front of a white board that says "hambrie welcomes Socorro HS HPA"

Our academy is geared for students who have a strong interest in medicine. Whether they aspire to be a physician, registered nurse, pharmacist, a surgeon, or radiologist or any other profession within healthcare our academy will prepare and equip them with foundational medical knowledge as well as real world experiences. The academy is more than a high school program; it is a partnership between SISD, area colleges, universities and health care facilities around El Paso that give our students a foundation in healthcare professions, and help us prepare them for an entry-level health care career.

Through classroom instruction and hands on experiences, HPA prepares students to tackle the rigor and depth of college work for any healthcare program and prepares them for the world of work and enhances their critical thinking skills.
