One of city’s biggest job expos will include 68 employers, 49 colleges, universities, technical programs ready to meet, interview students
Socorro Independent School District sophomores, juniors and seniors are invited to explore their future career options, including summer employment, college program, and internship opportunities at the 2026 SISD College, Career, and Job Expo. Sixty-eight businesse/employers and 49 college and university programs will participate in the expo, which will be from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. March 23 at Montwood High School.
“Through this event, we connect the employers with our students, who are just beginning their working journey,” said SISD Career & Technical Education Coordinator Brenda Gonzalez. “We introduce them to these companies and we are able to create staffing opportunities by bridging our CTE programs and students who have earned industry-recognized certifications with the needs of the employers in our community.”
Some of the biggest employers in El Paso who hire from this Socorro ISD event will participate again in this year’s job expo, including El Paso Chihuahuas, City Water Parks, El Paso Live, Chik-Fil-A and Charlie Clark Nissan El Paso. Many of the staff within these companies were hired through Socorro ISD and continue with long-term jobs and careers with the same employers, Gonzalez said.
Students will have the opportunity to speak with college, university, technical school and military representatives and meet with local business and industry partners to explore future career opportunities available to them.
Students can also interview with potential employers for summer jobs and internships. El Paso Workforce will be accepting applications for summer training and for job placement.
Students should be ready to interview, bring resumes and dress to impress. Students may register for the event at sisd.net/ccje.
