6th Grade Sports Parent Meeting
Slider MS will be hosting a sports meeting for 6th graders moving up into the 7th grade for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. We will discuss all the required paperwork and expectations for students moving up from 6th grade to the 7th grade. We understand that some parents may have questions regarding the process for students to compete athletically in school sports, and I will be there to answer any questions.
Date April 30, 2026, starting at 5:45 p.m.
At: William D. Slider Cafeteria
Who: Any current 6th grader who will be a 7th grader for the upcoming 2025-2026 School year that is interested in playing sports.
We will be discussing the upcoming sports schedules along with student/parent expectations (parent/guardian must attend). We will inform our Stallion community about how tryouts will be conducted and give information regarding practices. This meeting will allow parents/guardians the opportunity to get to know the coaches and receive answers to any questions they may have.
Parents will be provided with information regarding the completion of a physical form (front and back) and be introduced to the Rankone online documentation system. Students will not be allowed on the field/court without these two requirements being met. Physicals will allow students to participate in all extracurricular sports for the entire 2026-2027 school year. Again, students will not be allowed to practice without physical being on file and rank one paperwork being completed.
You may print out a physical form or pick one up at William D. Slider. Physical forms will be provided on the day of the meeting as will the instructions for rank one. We look forward to seeing you.

We would like to inform you that our Stallions in grades 6-8 will be traveling to Montwood High School for our annual STAAR pep assembly scheduled for Wednesday, April 1st, from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM. This event is an exciting opportunity for all students, faculty, and staff to come together and show their school spirit.
Transportation will be provided by school bus to the Montwood High School Tony Harper gymnasium. Please note that there will be an alternate bell schedule for our campus, and students will have lunch at an earlier time. All students must be accompanied by their 6th-period teacher during this event.
Students and faculty are approved to wear jeans with a school shirt. We plan to depart for Montwood between 12:30 PM and 1:00 PM and expect to return to campus between 2:15 PM and 2:45 PM.
All students have received a permission slip to attend this school-wide event. We kindly ask that you assist your child in completing this form and returning it to their 6th-period teacher as soon as possible.

Our cheer clinic is scheduled for April 7th to April 9th from 4 PM to 6 PM and tryouts will be on Friday, April 10th from 4 PM to 730 PM. The Slider Stallions are hosting their level up spring intersession camp and your child is invited to come join us. We kick off our level up camp on Monday, March 9th at 7:45 am. Our level up camp will be four days and will close on Thursday, March 12th at 12PM. Our camp is designed to assist our scholars master their upcoming STAAR/EOC assessments. To encourage participate on Monday we will have pajama day, Tuesday character select day, Wednesday is retro gamer day and Thursday is level up day. Would your child like free dress for April 2026? Any student whose online registration is completed will receive their free dress pass for April 2026. Below are the details, thank you to all families who have completed their portion. On day 5 of online registration, Slider is at 25% completion.

Tickets are only $3.00 and can be purchased at lunch with our parent volunteers and concessions will be sold by student council.

- Thank you to all scholars who participated in free dress month for February, this week all scholars are required to be back in school dress attire;
- This week is nine weeks testing for all core classes, help us make sure that are scholars are on time and staying for the full day;
- Backpacks will not be allowed on campus on Friday, it is a full day and scholars will be released at three thirty P.M.;
- Our annual students vs teachers basketball game is on Friday, tickets will be on sale for only three dollars beginning Wednesday and concessions will be sold by student council;
- Our March Intersession Camp is scheduled for Monday, March 9 to Thursday, March 12 from eight A.M. to 12 P.M., bus transportation will be available.
