I hope this message finds you well. This is Brandon Rios, the campus Principal at William D. Slider Middle School.
I wanted to inform you that our team has been closely monitoring class sizes and will be working on balancing a few classes across all periods. As a result, some students will receive updated schedules when they return to campus on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
This balancing effort is vital as it will help to reduce the number of students in certain classes, allowing us to better support all student learners.
We appreciate your attention to this important campus update.
Thank you,
Brandon Rios

Cross Country, Football, and Volleyball Sports Meeting
Where: Slider Gym
Start Time: 5:45
Who: Slider coaches representing each sport. Quick meet/greet and vital fall Sports information
Dear 7th/8th grade Slider Stallion's parents/students,
My name is Gustavo Hernandez, and I am the athletic coordinator here at William D. Slider Middle School. We wanted to welcome our upcoming student athletes who will be partaking in football, volleyball, and cross country. With the fall season sports coming up so rapidly, we wanted to introduce our coaches and give out information such as practice times, tryouts, and other important pieces of information. Coaches from all three sports (volleyball, football, and cross country) will be there to answer questions that you may have. Our sports team of baseball, softball, and soccer have set the bar high to start the year and we hope to emulate their success this fall.
Please be aware that all students must have a physical form on file and that their Rank one online sports documentation must be completed for a student to take part in 7th and 8th grade sports. Without the completion of these two items, students will not be allowed to participate in or tryout for any athletic sport. We are attaching the physical form and the instructions to complete the rank one sports online documentation. All physicals (except for cheerleading) must be dated after May 1, 2025. Physical paperwork is valid for ALL sports during the 2025-2026 school year. When both portions of the physical are completed, they will be turned into Coach Hernandez in room 211 and he will upload the physical and clear students for participation.
Again, this only pertains to students that are in 7th and/or 8th grade this 2025-26 school year looking to play football, volleyball or cross country.
Thank you,
Gustavo Hernandez

We need your immediate support in addressing a concerning trend that has made its way from social media onto our campus. Students have been using phrases such as “6-7” and certain hand gestures (pointer finger and thumb) to taunt and target others, including classmates who may be more vulnerable to teasing or exclusion.
These behaviors are disruptive, hurtful, and violate the district’s Student Code of Conduct. They are often intended to provoke or cause distress, which is unacceptable in our school community.
A few students have reported that these actions are threatening, intimidating, humiliating and it is affecting their ability to participate in or benefit from an educational program or activity and it creates an intimidating, threatening, hostile or offensive educational environment and interferes with our students academic performance.
Slider community, please speak with your child tonight about refraining from these and any other inappropriate phrases or gestures seen on social media. Students engaging in such conduct will face disciplinary action, which may include in-school or out-of-school suspension and possible placement in an alternative school setting.
Thank you for partnering with us to ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students.
