On Thursday, April 17th we will be hosting our Spring dance hosted by our student council, concessions will be sold by our SCEI coaches.
Tickets are only $3.00 and they will be sold during lunch by our parent volunteers beginning Monday, April 14th. Students must have an ID to purchase any tickets to school events. Students with a referral for this nine-weeks will not be approved to attend the event, each student’s behavior record clears every nine weeks. Students with 4 or more unexcused absences will not be approved to purchase a ticket. If a student needs to purchase a replacement ID, they may do so before or after school with our campus secretary Mrs. Machin for only $5.
School Dance Schedule:
· 6th grade during 1st period 1:19 p.m. – 2:22 p.m. Dance: 1:37 to 2:22 PM
· 7th & 8th grade combined during last period (2nd) of the school day from 2:45 PM to
3:30 PM
Good afternoon Stallions, attached are the Stallion scholar student expectations for the 4th nine weeks. As we move through this nine weeks, we wanted to remind our community about the student contract that was sent in March 2025. Over the past few days we have seen an increase of student referrals which have resulted in students losing privilege's to participate in end of year programs. As a campus, we are asking our school community to speak to our scholars about making good decisions, being nice and kind to one another, to not post anything inappropriate on social media accounts and to respect the school environment, teachers and personnel at William D. There will be GED classes in April through the SISD Community Education department. Registration is April 29 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, and April 30 from 4 pm to 6 pm. Dear Parents and Guardians, We are delighted to inform you of an upcoming event that we believe will be highly beneficial for our students. On April 2, 2025, our school will participate in a STAAR Rally at Montwood High School to motivate and prepare our students for the forthcoming STAAR assessments. The STAAR Rally is designed to be an engaging and uplifting event, featuring activities that will enhance students' confidence and enthusiasm for their examinations. The rally will include motivational speeches, enjoyable games, and interactive sessions that underscore the importance of performing well on the STAAR tests. Event Details: • Date: April 2, 2025 • Time: 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. • Location: Montwood High School Gymnasium We are confident that this rally will not only help alleviate any test-related anxiety but also foster a sense of community and support among the students. Our goal is to ensure that every student feels prepared and confident as they approach their STAAR assessments. Dress Code: Students are required to attend the rally in their school uniform to promote school spirit. Additionally, they should wear comfortable shoes suitable for participating in various activities. Transportation: Transportation to and from Montwood High School will be provided by the school. Buses will depart from the school at 8:00 a.m. and return by 11:30 a.m. Please ensure that your child arrives at school on time to board the buses. Safety Measures: The safety and well-being of our students are our top priorities. The following measures will be in place during the event: • Supervision: Teachers and staff will accompany students on the buses and throughout the event to ensure proper supervision. • Emergency Procedures: In case of any emergencies, first aid kits will be available, and staff members are trained to handle emergency situations. Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are happy to inform you that William D. Slider Middle School will be using Rooms within the Socorro ISD app on a trial basis this spring semester to enable two-way communication among teachers, parents, and students. Rooms is fully integrated into the district app so that parents can have one app for everything in Socorro ISD.
You may download the Socorro ISD app from the App Store or Play Store to get started. When you receive an email invite from Edurooms, that will give you access to Rooms in the district app to see class specific announcements and send direct messages to your child’s teacher(s).

Good morning Stallions, this is Brandon Rios, campus Principal at William D. Slider Middle School. Stallions, today marks the last day of the third nine weeks. As a reminder, no backpacks are allowed on campus today. We will be hosting our annual Slider games during the last two hours of the school day. We would also like to request a few moments of your time to complete your child's online registration. As of today, we have 22% of our Stallions registered.
