We hope you are enjoying your spring intersession break, we look forward to seeing our Stallions return on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 to begin the 4th nine weeks. To help prepare our families and scholars, below is the link to our slider scholar marking period 4 expectations. Good morning Stallions, this is Brandon Rios, campus Principal at William D. Slider Middle School. Stallions, today marks the last day of the third nine weeks. As a reminder, no backpacks are allowed on campus today. We will be hosting our annual Slider games during the last two hours of the school day. We would also like to request a few moments of your time to complete your child's online registration. As of today, we have 22% of our Stallions registered. Our goal is to have all Stallions registered for the 25-26 school year within the next few days. If you need assistance, our team is available to support you. Please contact us at 915.937.5400. Students who are fully registered by the end of day, March 7, 2025, to include uploaded utilities and ID's will get free dress for the month of April. Have a wonderful Friday Stallions!
Good afternoon Stallion community, this is a reminder that there will be no afterschool activities or services such as tutoring or homework lab provided this week. Due to the high winds expected this week, we ask that our students have a safe way of getting home afterschool, school buses depart Slider daily at 3:38 p.m. If you have any questions, please contact us at 915-937-5400.
Good evening Stallion community, this week is read across America week, our Stallions will also be taking their core nine weeks assessments Monday through Friday. On Friday, March 7th we will host our annual Slider games presented by student council, students will also not be allowed to bring their backpacks to school on Friday. William D. Slider Middle School's Valentine's Day dance tickets are on sale now for only $3.00. Concessions will be sold by the National Junior Honor Society. Students w/discipline referrals & excessive absences this 9 weeks will not be approved to attend the event. A student ID is required for purchase. Montwood High School's Biomedical Students will host a Body Dysmorphia Awareness showcase Jan. 21 at 5:30 p.m. at the MHS Theater. It is free and includes a community panel Q&A, followed by a gallery walk from 6 to 6:30 p.m. Featuring contributions from middle school students throughout El Paso and postgraduate students from UTEP and NMSU.
On Friday, January 17 we will be having our Winter Dance hosted by our leadership team, concessions will be sold by our librarian. Tickets are only $3.00, concessions will be sold and students will have free dress with the purchase of their ticket. Tickets will be sold during lunch by our parent volunteers beginning Monday, January 13th. Students must have an ID to purchase any tickets to school events. Students with a referral for this nine-weeks will not be approved to attend the event, each student’s behavior record clears every nine weeks. If a student needs to purchase a replacement ID, they may do so before or after school with our campus secretary Mrs. Machin for only $5.
We will host our electives fair on Wednesday, January 15th from 5 to 7 PM. Our fair will be for incoming 6th graders from Helen Ball, Benito Martinez & O'Shea elementary. Come meet your future 6th grade teachers, leadership team and get more information on the amazing electives you can sign up for.

Good evening Stallions, due to the inclement weather we are experiencing, Socorro ISD schools will operate on a delayed start schedule tomorrow, January 10th. All schools will start two hours from their normal starting time, 9:45 a.m. for Slider Middle School which is 3rd period class. Transportation will be provided two hours from normal pick-up times. Breakfast services will be provided per the two-hour delay inside the cafeteria. As more information is available, we will provide updates via the district website at www.sisd.net, phone messages, social media, the news media and/or from the District Service Center. Attached is the alternate bell schedule we will follow tomorrow.
