Hello, this is Brandon Rios Principal of William D. Slider Middle School. I am calling to inform you that we received a report of a social media post with an alleged threat to several schools that is circulating online. All threats are taken very seriously, and it was immediately reported to authorities, who have investigated the situation. Officials have deemed this post as NOT credible and there is no known threat to our school. Thank you to the individuals that shared the information with us so that we could promptly investigate. Parents, please help us by talking to your children about the gravity of threatening online posts and the serious consequences that result, whether they are made with the intent to fulfill or not. If you ever receive any information or reports of a threat, please take it seriously and immediately report it to the police. Do not share it online. Thank you for your continued trust and support of William D. Slider Middle School and Team SISD.

Our mandatory parent meeting for 6th grade will be on Tuesday, August 4th from 5:30-615 in the Slider library. Our 7th and 8th grade students parent meeting will be Wednesday August 5th from 5:30-6:15pm in the Slider library. Our August 2026 free dress days begin tomorrow, Monday, August 3, 2026. Students must have their student ID's with their free dress pass with them at all times. Free dress passes will be sold again during lunch for any students still needing to buy for only twenty dollars. For more information contact us at 915-937-5400.

You can purchase your free dress cards during lunch, starting today through August 6th, with the help of our wonderful parent volunteers.
Please remember to adhere to the dress code: no torn jeans, slippers, pajamas, leggings, yoga pants, short shorts, or clogs are allowed. Each student must have their free dress pass with them at all times. Failure to present the card may result in a dress code infraction, and please note that there will not be replacement cards issued for lost or stolen passes.

Dear soon to be 7th/8th grade Slider Stallion's parents/students,
My name is Gustavo Hernandez, and I am the athletic coordinator here at William D. Slider Middle School. We wanted to welcome our upcoming student athletes who will be partaking in the rich athletic history that William D. Slider has established throughout the years. Please be aware that all students must have a physical form on file and that their RankOne online sports documentation must be completed for a student to take part in 7th and 8th grade sports. Without the completion of these two items, students will not be allowed to participate in or tryout for any athletic sport. We are attaching the physical form and the instructions to complete the RankOne sports online documentation. All physicals (except for cheerleading) must be dated after May 1, 2026. Physical paperwork is valid for ALL sports during the 2026-2027 school year. When both portions of the physical are completed, they will be turned into Coach Hernandez in room 222 and he will upload the physical and clear students for participation. Here is some information regarding physical forms:
Parents fill out the following portion of the physical form and both student/parents sign the bottom highlighted section of the physical:

Coach Hernandez will also be responsible for uploading all physicals (we will make copies and give them back to students)

RankOne Sports Documentation
If a student has never participated in athletic team activities, parents will have to create a RankOne Sports account. If a child has participated in athletic team activities, parents will need to update their RankOne account. There are two separate signatures that need to be signed electronically. RankOne one will give you confirmation of the signatures. It may ask you to upload the physical, but you will be unable to do so. Only Coach Hernandez will be able to upload the physical to complete RankOne clearance.
Again, please remember, students must have their physical on file and that the RankOne online documentation must be filled out. If any part of the RankOne documentation is not complete the student will not be allowed to participate in or even tryout for any sports. Again, this only pertains to students that will be an upcoming 7th and/or 8th grader this 2026-27 school year.
***Softball and soccer for both boys and girls will start off our athletic year by holding a meeting with any interested student athlete on Monday July 27th. They will discuss team rules, practice procedures, and give information regarding tryouts. Any student athlete interested in playing baseball will need to bring shorts, caps, cleats/tennis shoes as they will begin their tryouts on Monday with some conditioning drills. Coaches will again go over tryout expectations.

We ask that all incoming 6th graders join our camp from 8am to 12pm. All 6th grade students will report to the cafeteria to begin their orientation. If you have any questions, please contact us at 915-937-5400. We look forward to seeing our rising sixth graders this Friday to learn more about our campus, William D. Slider Middle School, Home of the Mighty Stallions!
