The Socorro Independent School District is proud to share its continued academic success as reflected in the 2023 Texas Education Agency accountability ratings. Despite a year marked by shifting accountability standards, SISD not only maintained its overall ‘B’ rating but also outperformed the state average in all STAAR/EOC subject areas.
Districtwide, 52% of SISD students achieved the “Meets Grade Level” standard on STAAR exams — a 6-percentage point improvement over 2022 scores and notably higher than the state average of 49%. This achievement highlights the district’s strong instructional practices and its commitment to academic excellence across all campuses.
“We are incredibly proud of our students, teachers, and staff for rising to the challenge during a year in which many of the accountability standards were changed,” said Interim Superintendent James Vasquez. “Their dedication led to measurable gains, including outperforming the state in every tested subject. These results reflect the strength of our school community and our shared commitment to student success.”
SISD remains committed to providing a high-quality education and fostering an environment where every student can thrive. The district will continue to partner with families, educators, and the community to pursue even greater academic growth and student achievement.
