On this Juneteenth, #TeamSISD comes together to recognize a day rooted in freedom, resilience, and remembrance. We honor the legacy of Black history and culture while reaffirming our responsibility to build learning spaces where every student is respected, supported, and given the opportunity to succeed. Our commitment is to ensure students not only learn from history, but are also empowered to shape a more just and inclusive future. Today, and every day, we move forward together.
Superintendent James P. Vasquez delivered the State of the District address, outlining #TeamSISD’s current standing and path forward. He reflected on Socorro ISD’s progress over the past two years, celebrated student success, and recognized the people who have helped move the district forward, alongside an update from TEA Conservator Dr. Michael Hinojosa. As #TeamSISD is handed the pen again, it does so not to erase the past, but to move forward with purpose, with students remaining at the heart of every decision.
The Class of 2026 will cross the stage on Friday, June 5, and Saturday, June 6, at the Don Haskins Center at UTEP, with additional ceremonies taking place Monday, June 8, at SAC II for Options High School and Community Education graduates. 🎓

Together, schools across the region will implement standardized cardiac emergency procedures and work toward earning the Heart Safe School Designation. With CPR and AED training provided by El Paso Children’s Hospital, our team members are gaining lifesaving skills to respond swiftly and effectively in an emergency. In #TeamSISD, the safety and well-being of our students will always come first!

Rojas, the school community reinforced a simple but powerful message: everyone belongs. Well done, Roadrunners!
