The Board of Trustees recognized Rosa I. Rodriguez from Chester E. Jordan Elementary School as the 2024 Texas School Counselor of the Year and a national award finalist. The Board of Trustees recognized the Americas High School tennis team for winning the 2024 UIL 2-5A District and Bi-District championships. The team finished the season with an overall 14-4 record, and they won district title with an undefeated record of 6-0. Congratulations to these outstanding athletes!

Trustees honored the Americas High School girls cross country team for winning the 2024 UIL 2-5A District championship. The team had an outstanding season, placing first in the City Wide XC Invitational and the Pebble Hills XC Invitational. Great job, Trailblazers!

The Board of Trustees honored Americas High School athletes Lexee Salas and Diego Romero for competing in the 2024 UIL State Cross-Country Championships. They proudly represented their school, our district, and region with incredible spirit and pride at the state meet.

The Board of Trustees honored the winners of the second annual #TeamSISD Dia De Los Muertos Showcase. Out of more than 400 submissions across the elementary, middle, and high school divisions, nine students were recognized for their outstanding contributions. #TeamSISD employees and their families took part in the 2nd Annual Día de los Muertos Health Expo, which included a 5K Run and a 1-Mile Walk, at the Student Activities Complex today. Sponsored by Aetna, this free event featured over 50 wellness exhibitors, live fitness classes, a Kids Zone, flu shots, food trucks, music, raffles, giveaways, and many other activities.




We're MAD about science! 🧪Over 400 #TeamSISD third- to fifth-graders showcased projects in physical science, life science, earth/environmental science, engineering, behavioral/social science, and math at the #TeamSISD Elementary Science Fair. The event lets students apply classroom concepts through experimental design, while integrating skills in math, reading, and writing.
