Mathematicians make a bee-line 🐝 to the SISD 7th annual District Math Bee today at Eastlake High School! The Math Bee is a math fluency and number sense competition for K-5 students to promote numeracy and build a positive math community.
The Math Bee competition consists of several rounds. To advance to the next round, students must use mental math and number sense strategies to correctly solve three facts. The student with the highest number of correct answers from each grade level will be declared the winner!

Trustees honored PR department for earning the top school public relations award in the state for a third time from the TX School Public Relations Association. The team also received more than 40 additional awards for outstanding communication/marketing achievements.
Trustees recognized #TeamSISD Financial Services department, which was awarded the TASBO Award of Excellence in Financial Management. This award is given to TX school districts that have implemented professional standards, best practices, and innovations in financial reporting.
The Board of Trustees honored #TeamSISD Purchasing Dept. for receiving the prestigious TASBO Award of Merit for Purchasing Operations. This award recognizes Texas school districts that are committed to following professional standards in the acquisition of goods and services.
Trustees recognized Eastlake High School, El Dorado High School, Pebble Hills High School, Americas High School, and Socorro High School mariachi ensembles for qualifying for the 2024 UIL State Mariachi Festival. #TeamSISD is the only district in the city to have five high schools advance to the state competition. The Board of Trustees honored the 2024 Texas Music Educators Association All-State musicians. This prestigious recognition is given to students who excel in band and choir. The students selected for this honor are considered to be among the top 2% of musicians across Texas.
Trustees recognized the winners of the 2024 State Visual Arts Scholastic Event Competition. These #TeamSISD students qualified for the statewide event and will travel to San Marcos in April to attend the competition, where jurors from across the U.S. will assess their artwork.
