Family and friends cheered 39 students at tonight's @MECollege_HS stole ceremony, the first early college in #TeamSISD and the region. The stoles represent students' achievement of earning their associate degree from EPCC while they are in high school.

8th grade students and their parents are invited to learn about the SISD’s advanced academies and how to apply during two virtual sessions and one in-person session.
Two virtual sessions will be Tuesday, November 28 and Wednesday, November 29. An in-person presentation will be Thursday, November 30 at the District Technology Service Center, 12440 Rojas Building B. For the virtual and in-person meetings, a general session will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Individual academy talks and visits will be from 7 to 7:30 p.m.

The Board of Trustees honored the Pebble Hills High School marching band for advancing to the 2023 UIL 6A State Marching Band Championship. The marching band competed against 43 high school marching bands across Texas at the Alamodome on October 30. Congratulations, Spartans!

The Board of Trustees recognized the SISD Foundation Excellence in Education Board of Directors for raising more than $1 million in scholarship funds. This milestone was achieved at the 16th annual golf tournament in October, which raised $179,000 this year alone. Well done!

Trustees honored eight #TeamSISD school counseling teams for earning the 2023 Lone Star State School Counselor Association Award. These counseling teams made up more than half of the 11 counseling programs recognized by the state association. Congratulations!

Trustees honored Zulema Zuniga from Sgt. Roberto Ituarte ES for being named a 2023 Lone Star School Counselor of the Year finalist. The award recognizes outstanding school counselors who serve as advocates for Texas students and ensure their success. Great job Ms. Zuniga!

The Board of Trustees recognized the Eastlake High School volleyball team for winning 2023 UIL 6A bi-district and area championships. The team ranked 17th in the state and earned the first area championship for volleyball in the school’s history. Well done, Falcons!

Trustees honored Diego Romero from Americas High School and Mark Barajas from Pebble Hills High School who qualified and competed at the 2023 UIL 6A State Cross-Country Championships. Congratulations to these amazing athletes!

The Board of Trustees recognized the winners of the #TeamSISD Dia De Los Muertos Showcase. With over 400 submissions, the Dia De Los Muertos artwork showcased a variety of elements, including calaveras, colorful canvases and flowers. Congratulations!
