A sincere thank you to our Board of Trustees for your unwavering dedication, steadfast commitment, and tireless efforts in shaping a brighter future for our students!

Trustees recognized the Pebble Hills High School marching band that has excelled in representing #TeamSISD on regional, national, and international stages. Pebble Hills High School's marching band made history in 2024 as the only Area A and El Paso band to compete at the State Open Class Marching Band Contest in San Antonio and perform at the prestigious Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California. Well done, Spartans!

The Board of Trustees, along with representatives from Socorro AFT, proudly honored six exceptional 2024 Thrive Scholarship recipients from #TeamSISD. These scholarships open doors of opportunity, enabling students to achieve their dreams, fulfill their potential, and build brighter futures through education.

Trustees recognized Manuel Gurrola, a teacher and athletic trainer from El Dorado High School whose heroic actions made a significant difference for a basketball official in need. He quickly administered treatment eliminating the need for an ambulance or emergency responder assistance. Thanks to Mr. Gurrola’s swift response, the official recovered quickly and was able to officiate another game an hour later. Great job, Mr. Gurrola!

Board of Trustees honored Socorro High School tennis coach, Coach Mike Bezemek, who was inducted into the Texas Tennis Coaches Association Hall of Fame in December. He is only the second El Pasoan to earn this honor. Coach Bezemek began coaching in the 1990s and joined the Socorro Bulldogs in 2000, developing athletes and fostering discipline, with many reaching collegiate tennis. Congratulations, Coach Bezemek!
